About this planner

A planner of our own for the SalzburgerLand Card: every attraction on one map, with the drive time from where you are staying, whether each one is free once or unlimited, and what a visit costs without the card. The official site has a map of its own; this planner exists for the two questions left over: how far is it, and does the card pay for itself.

Where the data comes from

• Official SalzburgerLand Card brochure 2025/26 — benefit per attraction, opening sentence, address, telephone and website. This is the only source that says explicitly, per attraction, whether it is once only or unlimited. Where the database has no opening hours, that sentence was read into days and hours by hand.
• Tourist database of SalzburgerLand Tourismus — coordinates, photos, opening hours and category.
• OSRM — drive times by road, worked out in advance. Straight-line distance does not hold in the Alps: Krimml lies 92 kilometres from Salzburg but a good two hours of driving away.

What you should know

• The drive times are measured from the base you gave when you first opened the app, with a street or a place from OpenStreetMap or with a pin on the map. A house number changes nothing there and is therefore not asked for. They come from a grid that worked the whole area out in advance every two kilometres, and can therefore differ by up to about eight minutes from a route you would request now. The way back is reckoned to take as long as the way there. Both are smaller than the difference between the valley road and a pass that is closed half the summer, and that is what these numbers are for.
• Three attractions sit on top of a mountain with no road to them, and the Rauriser Hochalm carries two of them. For those three the drive time is the drive to the valley station, with a gondola mark beside it; the router otherwise drove an alm track and arrived at 46 minutes for a bird show that is a four-minute drive away. The ride up is stated separately and counts towards the time you get there, not towards the minutes driven.
• The brochure is the 2025/26 edition; a 2026 edition does not exist. Benefit types are stable between editions, but prices and validity come from the current sales page: € 129 for twelve days, € 103 for six, valid from 01/05 to 01/11. Children aged 4 to 15.9 years pay € 65 and € 52, and from the third child onwards the card is free, for a single-parent family too. You buy the card on the SalzburgerLand order page, which exists only in English.
• What a visit costs without a card is stated per attraction. For 129 attractions that price was checked at the address itself; for 58 it is an indication per category, and it says so. Amounts are whole euros: the age limits of the card and those of the attractions do not line up, so an amount down to the cent would claim a precision nobody has.
• The card runs for consecutive calendar days from first use, not for days you pick freely.
• You get 24 hours in Salzburg city or one drive over the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse, not both.
• Descriptions are our own English renderings of the source text, not a literal copy. What could not be resolved is on the data quality page.

What the card costs, when it pays for itself, and why that mostly comes down to distance. the sums.

What this costs

Nothing. This planner is free and stays free: no ads, no affiliate links and no account. One measurement does run: how fast the page opened, per kind of page, at Vercel — where the site already lives, so nobody is looking on who was not there before. Anonymous, without a cookie, and the measurement is shown nothing but the path of the page. What you enter — where you are staying, the days, the attractions you pick — stays on your device; a shared day plan sits in the link itself, behind the # sign, and that part of an address is never sent to a server. Built out of an interest in the card and in the question of which attraction is worth the detour. SalzburgerLand Tourismus is welcome to take it over if they want it.

About the look

The design follows the corporate design of SalzburgerLand Tourismus: the four season colours yellow, red, blue and green from the brand manual, black text on white, and painted shapes instead of rectangles. The official logo is a calligraphic artwork by Johann Weyringer and may not be rebuilt; that does not happen here either. The house typeface DIN Pro is not free to use on the web, so this uses Archivo.
