The Bauernhofmuseum lies at 1,200 metres on the sunny Weberlandl plateau near Wagrain, close to the Rote 8er middle station. It shows how Salzburg mountain farmers lived and worked a few decades ago, with original buildings, furnishings and tools. Vegetables, herbs and berries grow in the garden, and chickens and ponies roam about.

How did Salzburg mountain farmers live a few decades ago? What did their hard daily work look like and which tools did they have for it? Those questions are answered in the Wagrain hamlet of Weberlandl: the Bauernhofmuseum lies at 1,200 metres, close to the Rote 8er middle station.

The former way of life can be seen in the old buildings. The furnishings show how laborious life, and above all work, on a farm once was. One eye-catcher is the mill, which has been preserved largely in its original state. Organic vegetables, herbs and berries grow in the garden, and cackling chickens and whinnying ponies provide the sound.

What visitors say

There are only a few published visitor reports about this museum, so a clear picture is lacking. The only review on Tripadvisor is mainly about the way there: from the village it climbs steeply and the visitor found that hard going, whereas the Edelweiss-Almhütte next to it was described warmly. Anyone who wants to get here without the climb is better off using the Bergbahn or the access road.
