There are regular temporary exhibitions and historical guided tours on the history and culture of the area. The museums are centrally located and easy to reach.
What visitors say
A small village museum that visitors regularly have entirely to themselves; several reviewers describe being given a personal tour by a member of staff who knew a great deal about the region. On show are Pongauer Perchten masks, a historical classroom with slates and Kurrentschrift, and agricultural tools in the Dechantshofstadel, part of which may be tried out. Those who do not speak German miss a large part of the explanation. Expect a local museum, not a large exhibition house.
- · Check the opening times in advance; the museum is open on only a few half-days.
- · Without German, little of the tour remains.
