Over the course of thousands of years the Rauriser Ache has cut a jagged gorge into the rock. The starting point lies fifteen minutes from the village centre. The Kitzlochklamm is the finest and most impressive gorge in the region. The many small waterfalls, the sturdy bridges and the small quiet bays make the gorge a natural monument of the first order.

What visitors say

A gorge path of roughly one and a half kilometres over bridges, steps and through short tunnels in the rock, with the viewing platform at the Teufelstreppe as the highlight. Visitors call the path well secured and well maintained, but there are hundreds of steps leading up and not everyone finds the entrance fee proportionate to what is on offer. On hot days the coolness in the gorge is precisely the greatest plus. Allow around one to one and a half hours; it is not possible to get through with a pushchair.
