The Pfarr-, Wallfahrts- und Stille Nacht Museum in Mariapfarr covers, among other things, the time Joseph Mohr spent in the Lungau and the themes of pilgrimage, pilgrim journeys and peace. The treasury holds pieces from the possessions of the basilica, including the Silberaltärchen from 1443, and there is a large nativity scene with about 100 figures from 1750. The museum has step-free access.

What visitors say

A small museum that visitors find modern in its layout, with interactive screens and a clear structure around the history of the song and the pilgrimage site. Outside there are transparent information panels and benches around a fountain, so that even a short stop without a museum visit still offers something. There are only a few reviews and one visitor found the museum closed, so it should not be assumed that it is always open.
