The Alpentherme in Bad Hofgastein uses thermal water from the Hohe Tauern and is divided into six themed worlds, with a view of the mountains all around. There are water slides, the Alpe-Adria-Dom with a swim-in seawater aquarium, two thermal bathing lakes and various saunas. The sauna is not accessible to visitors under 16 years of age.

The Alpentherme Gastein works with thermal water from the depths of the Hohe Tauern and combines health and leisure areas with a 360 degree view of the Alps. There are water slides, the Alpe-Adria-Dom with a swim-in seawater aquarium, places to rest and for wellness, 2 thermal bathing lakes and a range of saunas.

The six worlds are Thermal World, Family World, Sauna World, Ladies World, Beauty World and Sports World.
What visitors say
The sauna area with its infusions, the outdoor pool with a mountain view and the separate women's section are the things visitors praise most often. The criticism is just as constant: the separation between Family World and Relax World is not enforced in practice, so it is noisy in the quiet zone all the same, and according to guests staff rarely intervene. The water is also regularly described as too cold in the colder months. On busy days it feels to several visitors more like a swimming pool than a visit to a thermal bath, and judgements on value for money differ on that point.
