With the Donnerkogelbahn, a gondola lift with cabins for eight people, you reach the hiking area around Gosaukamm and Zwieselalm in the Lammertal from Annaberg-Lungötz, with a view as far as the Dachstein.
In the event of heavy rain in the morning, the cable car is not put into operation that day.
Guests with a Gästekarte from Annaberg-Lungötz pay less in summer on every ride with the Donnerkogelbahn. That reduction also applies to rides with the Hornbahn in Rußbach; note the operating times there.
Tip: walk in the footsteps of Empress Sisi.
What visitors say
The cabin lift sets one down at about 1,475 metres, after which the walking area around Gosaukamm and Zwieselalm begins almost immediately. The much-walked round over the Zwieselalm is almost 9 kilometres with some 300 metres of ascent and takes about three hours; the paths are broad and well maintained, but sturdy shoes are recommended. Along the way there are several huts (Zwieselalmhütte, Gablonzer Hütte), which divides the route into manageable sections. It is possible to descend on the other side via the Gosaukammbahn towards Gosausee, but then one is no longer at one's car.
- · Allow about three hours for the round over the Zwieselalm.
- · Wear sturdy shoes; the paths are broad but not level.
- · For a descent via the Gosaukammbahn to Gosausee, arrange the way back in advance.
