The Russbacher Hornbahn leads up to the 1,450 metre high Hornspitz, where walking routes for the whole family begin that are suitable for a pushchair. Rußbach am Pass Gschütt in the Salzburger Land borders directly on the Salzkammergut. On top of the Hornspitz there is a view of the Dachstein, the Gosaukamm and the Tennengebirge. The bright yellow little train Ameisenexpress runs past cows, horses and meadows to the Edtalmhütte, 3 kilometres away, and back again.
Brunos Bergwelt has play and learning stations for children. They can walk past the giant ant Emma, play in the swing forest and the fossil sandpit and look at Bruno's alpine plants. Parents can meanwhile lie on the panorama loungers or have coffee and cake on the sun terrace of the Gipfeltreff.
What visitors say
From the top station at about 1,450 metres there is a play area with more than twenty stations and a puzzle trail; parents report that this takes at least an hour and a half to two hours and that a whole day can easily go into it. Small children enjoy themselves as well, even when they cannot yet solve the puzzles. Handcarts can be borrowed free of charge on site and the Ameisenexpress to the Edtalm takes pushchairs and wheelchairs along on the luggage rack; on foot that alm takes about an hour, with a pushchair as well. The main point to note: in summer the gondola does not run every day.
- · Check in advance whether the gondola runs that day; in summer it does not operate daily.
- · Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the puzzle trail alone.
- · Handcarts stand free of charge at the top station, so there is no need to haul one up.
