The Erlebnisbad Abtenau has three basins: an adventure pool of 500 m² with two slides and a current channel, a 25-metre sports pool and a children's pool on three levels. Outside there are a sunbathing lawn, a beach volleyball court, table tennis and table football. The whole pool is accessible to wheelchair users, down to a ramp leading into the adventure pool.

The pool has three different basins.

The adventure pool covers 500 m² and has a water depth of up to 120 cm. There are two slides: a 70-metre speed slide and a wide slide with two lanes, both of which end in their own landing area in the adventure pool. In the current channel with its built-in swing grotto you let yourself drift along. Cascade showers, water fountains and floor air bubbles massage the back. For smaller children a climbing net is stretched across the adventure pool, where they can practise their climbing technique without risk.

The sports pool is 25 metres long and has four lanes, with a water depth of 140 to 190 cm.

The children's pool has a water surface of 80 m² and is laid out on three levels. An elephant slide forms the entry to the upper basin, and there are also floor air bubbles and a small water slide between two basins. On the lowest level the water is 10 cm deep, so that parents can let their children get used to the water calmly. That basin lies under a sun sail, sheltered from direct sun.

Outside the water there are numerous sun loungers and shady spots under trees, and four large parasols are available free of charge.

The beach volleyball court is the meeting place for ball players. If there is no room there, table tennis or table football is also possible.

The pool facility is fully accessible to people with a disability; wheelchair users can also move around without difficulty. The sports pool and the adventure pool are connected by two wheelchair-accessible ramps to adapted changing cubicles and toilets. The buffet with sun terrace is also reachable by a ramp. With a wheelchair it is possible to drive straight into the adventure pool via a ramp. For the visually impaired all facilities are marked in large lettering. A disabled parking space lies directly in front of the entrance to the swimming pool.

What visitors say

A compact open-air pool with a view of the Tennengebirge, a 25 metre lane, a children's pool and slides. Visitors call it strikingly clean and well maintained, with friendly staff and free loungers and parasols, plus shaded spots under the trees. The clearest drawback in the reviews is the catering: the food is described as mediocre and on the expensive side. Fine for families with children who want to slide and play.
