The highest thermal bath in Salzburg lies at 1,100 metres and is supplied with 1 million litres of fresh thermal water every day. Over 600 m² there are eight different saunas and steam baths with a view of the mountains. The various zones of the thermal bath are aimed at relaxation, at swimming for health and at recovery after sport. Opposite the thermal bath there is a bus stop, and a panoramic walkway connects the Felsentherme directly with Bad Gastein station.
What visitors say
Opinions are clearly divided. The recurring positives in the reviews are the friendly staff, the cleanliness and the mountain view from the outdoor pools; the sauna infusions are singled out for praise several times. Against that stands criticism of the building itself, much concrete and shades of grey, of the fairly small sauna and rest area that fills up at busy moments, and of water that some find too cool. Several visitors consider the value for money disappointing compared with other thermal baths in the area, and there are parents who report that their children were bored.
- · Come later in the day for quiet; during the day the sauna area fills up on peak days.
- · Bring your own towels, as hiring costs extra.
