At the top station of the Rauriser Hochalmbahn there is a bird of prey station where owls and birds of prey can be seen at close range. During a demonstration of about 40 minutes it is explained how these animals live, some of which are endangered. There are two shows a day.

The Rauriser Hochalmbahn leads to the bird of prey station at the top station. The otherwise shy owls and birds of prey can be seen here at close range. In about 40 minutes it is explained how these partly endangered animals behave and live. The shows take place daily at 11.00 and at 14.30.
What visitors say
The flight demonstration lasts about forty minutes and is given by a falconer who has been doing it for years; besides the flying there is an explanation of the species and of falconry. The birds are bred in captivity and fly free, which means the weather determines whether it goes ahead: in strong downdraughts the show does not take place. Visitors are predominantly positive and it works well with young children. The site is at the top station of the Hochalmbahnen, so it combines naturally with the gondola and the walking area.
