The Kaprun Museum is housed in the 400-year-old Steinerbauernhaus on the Kirchbichl, a listed building. Over 140 square metres four permanent exhibitions can be seen: the earliest settlement of the area, the tourism pioneers, the construction of the hydroelectric power station and the development of the glacier lifts. Temporary exhibitions are held in the adjoining Machlhütte.

On the Kirchbichl in Kaprun stands the old Steinerbauernhaus, a protected monument with 400 years of history. It houses the Kaprun Museum. Over 140 square metres you can view four exhibitions: on the first traces of settlement, on the pioneers of tourism, on the construction of the hydroelectric power station and on the development of the glacier lifts. Changing exhibitions are shown in the adjoining Machlhütte. Every Friday from spring to autumn the Katschner bakery bakes bread specialities in the traditional way in the historic free-standing bread oven.
