- Interactive discovery stations, suitable for children as well
In the heart of Zell am See stands the Vogtturm, one of the historically most interesting buildings in the region. The centuries-old tower is six storeys high and stands out from the outside already. Inside there is an extensive collection on regional and local history and culture, with romantic paintings and stories about the pioneering spirit of the people of Zell am See. The exhibitions are also arranged with variety for children, with interactive discovery stations.
Special exhibitions: Porsche Design and Die Fotografen von Zell am See put local pioneers in the spotlight. The exhibition Heldentheater und Heldengeschichte(n) is about the heroes of the peasant wars of 1525 and 1526 and about heroes from later centuries. What visitors say
A small town museum in an old tower that visitors find more modern and better kept than they expected. Texts are in German and English and there are interactive elements, among them a fishing game that keeps children occupied for a while. The narrative about how Zell am See developed, including the first snowboards from the region, is mentioned often. Allow about an hour; there are still few reviews, but those are positive.
- · Allow about an hour, not half a day.
- · With children: the interactive elements keep them busy.
