Schloss Goldegg, built in the fourteenth century, has wood-panelled rooms and a richly decorated knights' hall. One room recalls the emigration of the Salzburg Protestants in 1731 and 1732.

What visitors say

The museum in the castle shows daily life in the Pongau and does so with furnished rooms and full cupboards instead of classic display cases, which is experienced as pleasantly unadorned. Mentioned most often are the Rittersaal with its Renaissance panelling, frescoes and the coats of arms on the ceiling, and the preserved living and sleeping quarters. Entry is only possible with a guided tour, so the visit is tied to fixed departure times. Suitable for anyone interested in regional history and interiors; for children there is little to do.
