Cabin lift that takes you 1,052 vertical metres up from the Großarltal to the plateau of the Kieserl at 1,954 metres, on the ridge between Großarltal and Gasteinertal. At the top the walking route Himmelsroute begins, towards Fulseck and on over the Kreuzkogel to the mountain station of the Panoramabahn. Along that route lie the Himmelreichsee, the mountain carts and the Sinnesweg.

The Kieserlbahn climbs 1,052 vertical metres from the valley to the summit plateau of the Kieserl, in a modern cabin lift for ten people. On the mountain ridge between the Großarltal and the Gasteinertal, at an altitude of 1,954 metres, you look out over the mountain panorama.

The walking route Himmelsroute runs from here towards Fulseck and then on over the Kreuzkogel to the mountain station of the Panoramabahn, a six-person cable car. The Himmelsroute also leads to the Himmelreichsee, the mountain carts and the Sinnesweg.

More information about walking in combination with the mountain lifts is available on the website and in the information booklet Gmiadlich wandern, which can be obtained from the Tourismusverband and from the Großarler Bergbahnen.

What visitors say

The gondola takes you to nearly 2,000 metres in a quarter of an hour, where the mountain restaurant Wolke 7 stands with its panoramic terrace. Walkers mainly use the top station as the start or end point of the high-level route over Fulseck and Kreuzkogel towards the Panoramabahn; that route is highly rated by dozens of komoot users and runs over gravel and natural paths without any climbing. Anyone who goes up only for the view is quickly finished, so most visitors combine the ride with the walk or with a meal at the top. The lift itself is noticeably quiet and the view reaches as far as the Glockner massif.
