- Guided tours on request, for 10 to a maximum of 25 people
The underground part of the building is devoted to the national park exhibition Smaragde und Kristalle, with treasures from the Hohe Tauern. In the folk culture exhibition you get to know the history of the Wilhelmgut and learn how the ancestors lived here. The display deals with crafts, customs, art and life in former times. Dioramas give an insight into the animal and plant world of the Pinzgau. On the attic floor the focus is on the world of bees and the work of beekeepers. In the open-air section there are buildings from earlier times, including an old brick baking oven in which farmhouse bread is baked.
The museum is a partner of the Nationalpark SommerCard and the SalzburgerLand Card.
What visitors say
The mineral and emerald collection from the Habachtal is what visitors write about most; collectors call it one of the better collections consisting solely of stones from a single region. In addition there are furnished farmhouse rooms, a mining section, a small film room and an outdoor area with old buildings. Most people spend one and a half to two hours there and call it a good option in the rain, with children as well. The texts are largely in German, with limited English alongside.
- · Take in the outdoor area with the old buildings, it is easily skipped
- · A good choice for a rainy day
- · Parking at the museum is free
